The Community Helps Celebrate The Venue's Fifth-Year Anniversary

It was a milestone worth celebrating for April and Kevin Sendel, as The Venue marked five years in business after the couple purchased it in 2021.

The Venue hosted a celebration that brought together friends, family, nearby businesses, and dignitaries to mark the event space's anniversary. The Sendels try to avoid the spotlight but the outpouring of support made it hard for them to stay behind the scenes.

“We're not ones that want the attention,” explained Kevin. “We're overwhelmed and it's very heartwarming.”

The couple purchased The Venue from Michael and Catia Skinner in July of 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to The Venue, the Sandels also own and operate Personal Touch Catering and Banquet Hall. Their experience with their other business gave them the courage to take a leap of faith and buy The Venue.

“We just love being with people, seeing the smiles, seeing everybody having fun and we had the option to take The Venue and we did,” said Kevin. “We know everything would come back eventually; here we are and we love it.”

The building boasts 5,000 square feet of space and hosts concerts, weddings, trade shows, conferences and special events.

The Sendels kept it simple on how they remained in business for five years.

“A hard-working team, really good food and a space that people want to be in again,” said April.

“A warm space, a welcoming space,” added Kevin.
