At roughly 12:06 a.m., officers were called to a residence in the area of Harper Road and Rye Street regarding an ankle monitor that had been cut off. Officers learned that a female, on a release order and facing a charge of accessory after the fact of murder, had removed her ankle monitor and left the area. Another woman had attempted to stop the suspect from leaving and was assaulted by a male.  Officers searched the area but did not locate either suspect. Warrants were sought and issued for their arrest.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., officers were made aware that both suspects had been spotted in the area of Park Street North and Romaine Street. They located the male suspect, deployed PSD (Police Service Dog) Gryphon for a bark-and-hold and took the man into custody without incident.

Officers then learned the female suspect was nearby and found her behind a building. One officer drew their CEW (conducted energy weapon) after the suspect refused to remove her hands from her pockets. She was taken into custody without incident.

As a result:

A 24-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged with:

  • Mischief under $5,000

  • Fail to comply with the release order

A 44-year-old Peterborough man who was also wanted on a warrant for theft under $5,000 and fail to comply with probation X3 was arrested on the strength of both warrants and further charged with:

  • Assault

  • Fail to comply with probation X3

Both accused were held in custody and appeared in court on Friday.
