A Trip For Ice Cream Ended In $58,069 Lottery Win For Retired Lakefield Farmer

Debara (Debbie) Bullock of Lakefield is now $58,069 richer after winning a Lotto 6/49 second place prize on July 23.

Bullock, a retired farmer, is an occasional lottery player who purchases tickets sporadically.

"I went to the store for ice cream and decided to pick up a Quick Pick ticket. I stopped in at the same store a week later and discovered my win," she said. "I had my granddaughter with me and the other customers in the store were congratulating me.”

Bullock says she called her husband right away to share the news, but he didn’t believe her.

"When he realized it was true, he was really excited,” she said. “When I received my cheque, my fingers were tingling. I’ve never won money like this before.”

She shays she plans to pay some bills and purchase a new washer and dryer. She is also considering purchasing a new trailer for their camp.

“I plan to make the most out of every penny of this win.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac's on Mathew Street in Marmora.

Laurie Vandean of Peterborough has won $38,370 in the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation Summer 50/50 Lottery, announced on Tuesday.

Paul Gullo and James Alleston were the Early Bird winners, winning a combined $4,500 in the Early Bird Draws.

Peterborough Woman $100,000 Richer After ENCORE Win

Carla Guest of Peterborough matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the July 12 LOTTO MAX draw and won $100,000.

Guest say she is an occasional lottery player and she typically plays LOTTO MAX but doesn't always add ENCORE.

"This is my first big win," she said.

"It was quite the surprise," she said. "I called my husband to tell him, and he was just as shocked as me."

She plans to pay some bills and invest in her future with her win.

"I'd also like to travel and visit family. It's still entirely unbelievable. This will definitely enhance my life," said Guest.

The winning ticket was purchased at Real Canadian Superstore on Borden Avenue in Peterborough.

Peterborough Woman Hits the Jackpot And Wins $1 Million

Jill Artibello of Peterborough is now $1 million richer after winning the LOTTO MAX draw on June 7.

Artibello, who is retired, says she has been playing the lottery since LOTTO MAX launched.

The avid sewer and crafter said she checked her tickets at home when she discovered she won big.

"I kept looking and double checking the numbers online. I just couldn't believe it," she said. "I told my sister and she said, 'Stop –you're lying!'"

Artibello plans to share her win with family.

"I will share with my sister, nieces and nephews and my good friend. I will also enjoy a more comfortable retirement and do some work around the house."

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Charlotte Street in Peterborough.

 "I'm so happy. I never dreamed I would win.”

Time is ticking for a lucky lottery winner as they have two weeks to claim a $100,000 ENCORE prize from the June 12 Lotto 6/49 draw announced Friday.

Players must match the last six of the seven ENCORE numbers in exact order to win the $100,000 prize. Players have one year from the draw date to claim their prize.

Millbrook Man Wins $100,000 From Lotto 6/49 Encore Draw

One “yes” later and Millbrook’s Jeffrey Williams became $100,000 richer by matching the last six of seven Encore numbers on the March 12 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The retired automotive industry worker has been playing the lottery since 1993 according to the press release.

"This is my first big win," said Williams.

His ticket was purchased at Morello's Your Independent Grocer.

He discovered his win when his wife checked the ticket.

"She brought her phone over to show me the screen and I had no idea what I was looking at," said Williams. "I quickly went to the store. The clerk was so excited and I was in shock. It didn't feel real."

Williams says he plans to use his win to complete some work around the house, share with his children and treat himself.

Lindsay Man Has Great Start To Long Weekend With $100,000 Scratch Ticket Win

“I checked my ticket using the OLG app and I was in shock,” he said. “I’m still in shock and I feel so blessed. It doesn’t feel real.”

Tran says he will use his winnings to purchase a new truck, pay some bills and save some for his son’s education.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Lindsay Street in Lindsay.

According to OLG, an Instant Crossword Tripler costs $5 per play and the odds of winning any prize is one in 3.61.
