Cobourg Woman Wins $77,777 On Instant Diamond 7s

Corrine Mueller of Cobourg won the highest prize of $77,777 on INSTANT DIAMOND 7s announced on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old building manager said that this was her first big lottery win.

“It was 2 a.m. when I actually played my ticket and realized I won big. My heart was beating so fast, I was so excited,” she said.

When she told her husband with five kids of the win, he didn’t believe her at first.

"We always joke that we have a winning ticket so of course he thought I was joking again," she said. "That’s when he checked for himself and we hugged each other and jumped up and down. It was great!"

Mueller wants to put a down payment on a house, and a new car and plans to go on a cruise with her winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Port Hope ONMarket on the Highway 401 Eastbound ONroute. The payment was given on Oct. 4.

$1 Million Unclaimed Winning Lotto 6/49 Ticket Sold in Peterborough

The guaranteed $1 million prize from the Ontario Lottery Gaming (OLG) Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball is still left unclaimed from the Sept. 24 draw.

The guaranteed $1 million ticket was sold somewhere in Peterborough.

The Gold Ball Draw guarantees the winner will take home either $1 million or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million.

The next draw on Wednesday has 25 white balls and one gold ball remaining.

Players have until 10:30 p.m. on draw day to purchase tickets at OLG.ca or at authorized OLG retailers.

Peterborough Man Wins Over $50,000 in Lotto Max Win

Peterborough’s Wayne Palmer is $52,113.10 richer after winning a LOTTO MAX second prize in the Aug. 9, draw announced on Thursday.

His winning ticket was purchased at Pioneer Snack Express on Lansdowne Street in Peterborough.

The 56-year-old father of two said this was his first big win.

"I mostly play LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49," said Palmer. "This win feels good. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone."

He says his plans for the money are going towards some bills, saving for a trip and helping take care of his children.

Peterborough Woman Takes Home $50,000 With Ontario 49

Barbara Gautreau of Peterborough is celebrating after winning $50,000 with Ontario 49.

Gautreau, 60, who plays the lottery weekly says this is her first major win.

She checked her ticket using the OLG app.

"It was pretty dark, so I had to scan it a few times to see if it was real. Then I checked OLG.ca to confirm what I was seeing," she said. "I went right to the store to validate the ticket – it was so fun.”

She says her son was the first person she told.

"He couldn't believe it and is beyond happy for me.”

She plans to pay some bills, take a trip in the winter, and treat her family to a nice dinner.

Peterborough Woman Will Go Back To School With $100,000 Scratch Ticket Win

Leslie Coughlin of Peterborough is $100,000 richer after winning the top prize with Instant Mystery Multiplier.

Coughlin, a 35-year-old retail worker, says she has been playing INSTANT games regularly for 10 years.

"My favourite games are the $10 and $30 tickets. I looked up the odds for this game and thought they were good, so I started buying them regularly," she said.

She discovered her win after scanning the ticket in store.

"I thought I won $10,000 at first. I screamed and I called my mom right away. I went home to take a closer look and realized I won $100,000 – it felt unreal!"

She plans to share her win with her mom and brother.

"When my aunt was alive, she won $77,777 on an INSTANT ticket and shared with my mom. I plan to keep the legacy going and share with my cousin," she said. "Then I will save the rest and go back to school."

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on King Street.

A Trip For Ice Cream Ended In $58,069 Lottery Win For Retired Lakefield Farmer

Debara (Debbie) Bullock of Lakefield is now $58,069 richer after winning a Lotto 6/49 second place prize on July 23.

Bullock, a retired farmer, is an occasional lottery player who purchases tickets sporadically.

"I went to the store for ice cream and decided to pick up a Quick Pick ticket. I stopped in at the same store a week later and discovered my win," she said. "I had my granddaughter with me and the other customers in the store were congratulating me.”

Bullock says she called her husband right away to share the news, but he didn’t believe her.

"When he realized it was true, he was really excited,” she said. “When I received my cheque, my fingers were tingling. I’ve never won money like this before.”

She shays she plans to pay some bills and purchase a new washer and dryer. She is also considering purchasing a new trailer for their camp.

“I plan to make the most out of every penny of this win.”

Artibello, who is retired, says she has been playing the lottery since LOTTO MAX launched.

The avid sewer and crafter said she checked her tickets at home when she discovered she won big.

"I kept looking and double checking the numbers online. I just couldn't believe it," she said. "I told my sister and she said, 'Stop –you're lying!'"

Artibello plans to share her win with family.

"I will share with my sister, nieces and nephews and my good friend. I will also enjoy a more comfortable retirement and do some work around the house."
