Peterborough Police Seeking Information On Wanted Man From a Pursuit
/Peterborough Police are looking for 20-year-old man Louka Greaves after a police pursuit early Friday morning.

At roughly 2:00 a.m. on Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road area. The vehicle stopped briefly before taking off and narrowly missed hitting police vehicles.
Officers followed westbound on Lansdowne Street before the pursuit was called off.

Peterborough Police Seeking Information of Bomb Threat at Local Business
/Peterborough Police are seeking information of a bomb threat made against a Peterborough business on Wednesday afternoon.

At roughly 4:00 p.m., officers were called to a business at the corner of Lansdowne Street and Spillsbury Drive after being issued a bomb threat.
Police evacuated the business, set up a perimeter and called the OPP bomb unit for assistance. Just before 1:00 a.m., the OPP Bomb Unit and bomb detecting dogs were on the scene and did not find anything suspicious or threatening.
The area was cleared after roughly nine hours with the investigation ongoing at publication.

Peterborough Police Warn Public About Circulating Rental Scams
/Peterborough Police are warning the public of a circulating rental scam that has been surfacing, announced on Wednesday.
Officers received reports of a scam on Sept. 15 and started an investigation. Several more victims reported the same since the initial call.
Victims would answer an online advertisement for a room available at an address on Cahill Drive in Peterborough. Money was provided to the landlord only to find out it was a scam.
The advertisements posted are not from the owner and police are concerned there may be more victims. The name ‘TJ’ or ‘Thomas Connolly’ were given as the contact for the rental.

Wanted Campbellford Woman on Warrant Arrested On Multiple Charges
/Peterborough Police arrested a 26-year-old Campbellford woman wanted on a warrant on Monday afternoon.

At roughly 5:30 p.m. on Monday, the woman was located and arrested by Peterborough Police. She was charged with a dangerous operation of a vehicle and failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm in connection with two incidents over the weekend.
Around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to a home after reports a vehicle was driven at a group of people. The driver allegedly got out and swung a bat at several women.
Police received a second call from 9-1-1 about a vehicle being driven erratically in the George and Lake Street area that struck a man. He was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
In addition to the warrant, the woman was also charged with:
Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
Assault with a weapon
Two counts of abandoning a child (two young children were in the vehicle at the time of the incidents)
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Peterborough Police Seeking Owner of a Safe Found in Lansdowne Place Parking Lot
/Peterborough Police are seeking the owner of a safe that was found by maintenance workers Lansdowne Place mall parking lot on Monday.

Resident Fined $583 After Speeding Through School Zone, Police Will Continue To Provide Increased Presence As School Returns
/Over the past week, Peterborough Police has been conducting traffic safety initiatives in school zones and community zones in Cavan-Monaghan, Lakefield, and the City of Peterborough.

So far there have been tickets issued for speeding and other infractions.
On Friday an officer on patrol on County Road 10 near North Cavan Public School stopped a driver recorded going 99 km/h in a 60 km/h school zone. The ticket comes with a fine of $583.
These initiatives will continue into next week.
Police remind motorists to take extra precautions as school buses return to the roads and students make their way to school including slowing down in school zones, giving themselves extra time to get to where they are going and stopping for school buses.
Call For Donations After Third Break-In Of The Season At Ecology Park
/Ecology Park has been victim of a break in for the third time this season, resulting in the theft of a variety of tools, they announced on social media on Thursday.

GreenUp Ecology Park, located on Ashburnham Drive, features numerous gardens showcasing an array of greenery, including edibles, drought-tolerant, and pollinator-attracting plants.
The park is a place for people of any age to learn about the environment and they often host workshops, summer camps and class trips.
Organizers are asking for donations in hopes to replace stolen tools and improve security measures at the facility to prevent another break in.
The tools that were stolen are imperative to keep operating their native plant and tree nursery.
