Peterborough Police Investigating Suspicious Vehicle Offering Ride to 12-Year-Old in Millbrook

Peterborough Police Service continues to investigate a Millbrook incident of a man offering a 12-year-old a ride to school on Tuesday.

Officers received calls of the incident that occurred in the County Road 21 and County Road 10 area. The 12-year-old was reportedly approached by a vehicle around 7:45 a.m. and offered a ride to school. The vehicle took off after the child refused the ride. The school was made aware of the incident after being in contact with the police.

The vehicle is described as:

  • Navy blue SUV with roof racks

The driver is described as:

  • 40-50 years old

  • Heavy-set male with grey hair with some grey facial hair

One Person Taken To Hospital For Minor Injuries After Being Struck By Vehicle

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Peterborough on Wednesday night. 

Officers responded to a call at the intersection of Water Street and University Heights around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.  The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of minor injuries. 

The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to yield to a pedestrian.

Peterborough Police Have Located 30-Year-Old Woman After Being Reported Missing From Wednesday

Thirty-year-old Peterborough woman Angela Clark has been located since being reported missing on Wednesday morning, announced by the Peterborough Police Service on Thursday.

Clark — who also goes by Angela Holroyd — was last seen by her family last week Wednesday and last heard from her on Tuesday prior to her being declared missing.

Peterborough Police Are In Search of a Missing 30-Year-Old Woman

The Peterborough Police Service is looking for 30-year-old Peterborough woman Angela Clark who was reported missing Wednesday morning.

Clark — who also goes by Angela Holroyd — was last seen by her family last week Wednesday and last heard from her on Tuesday. Her family and police are concerned for her safety. 

Clark/Holroyd is described as:

  • 5’4 - 5’6

  • Thin build

  • Approximately 80 lbs.

  • Brown and purple hair, shaved on both sides

  • Tattoos on both arm

One Man Charged After a Stewart Street Stabbing Incident From Monday.

A 31-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a stabbing incident in the Stewart Street and Wolfe Street area on Monday morning.

At roughly 10:15 a.m., officers arrived and discovered a male victim outside the residence. Police attended to him until emergency medical services arrived and took them to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A dispute had escalated between two men that resulted in the stabbing officers say. The residence was searched where the suspect was located and taked into custody without incident. 

As a result of the investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon

  • Aggravated Assault

  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purposes

  • Uttering Threats

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court on Tuesday.

One man has been taken to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing while another man has been taken into custody on Monday morning.

Peterborough Police Seeking Four Suspects In Pavement Defrauding

Peterborough Police Service continues to receive reports of a group defrauding businesses and residences doing driveway and pavement repairs.

Officers learned of a defrauding on Monday as the suspects targeted a Lakefield business on May 11. Police believe it is the same group involved.

The work has been unsolicited and sometimes has started prior to an agreement. Their sales technique is reported as aggressive.

Peterborough Police Issued Another 40 Tickets Totalling 80 During Distracted Driving Campaign

Another 40 tickets have been issued for distracted driving totalling 80 for the Peterborough Police Service’s “Keep Your Eyes” on the road campaign since May 1, announced on Tuesday.

Ontario Distracted Driving Statistics

  • It's estimated that eight in 10 accidents are caused by distraction

  • Deaths from collisions caused by distracted driving have doubled since 2000

  • One person is injured from a distracted driving-related accident every 30 minutes

The police urge motorists keep roads safe by:

  • Never text while driving

  • Pull over to use your phone

  • Avoid tasks that may take your attention away from driving

The campaign runs through May with traffic and frontline officers conducting speed enforcement and watching for distracted drivers in high-traffic volume areas and residential neighbourhoods.

Peterborough Police Seeking Suspects Defrauding Lakefield Business For Incomplete Lot Repaving

Peterborough Police are investigating a defrauding on a Lakefield business occurring on Thursday.

The report was made on Friday to police. The business owner claimed to have an agreement with a company to repave their parking lot. The work had started but remained incomplete despite $15,000 being exchanged.

The first suspect was described to police as:

  • Male, white

  • Heavier build

  • Irish accent

  • White baseball hat

  • Blue golf shirt

  • Khaki shorts

  • White sport socks

  • Sandals

The second suspect was described to police as:

  • Male, White

  • Medium build

  • Red hair

  • Irish accent

  • Black t-shirt

  • Black shorts

  • Black shoes or boots

Peterborough Police Searching For Man With a Nationwide Warrant Related to a Peterborough Man's Death

Peterborough Police Services have continued their search for a 34-year-old Barrie man, Eduardo Tito Silva who is wanted in connection with a homicide in Peterborough on July 2, announced on Thursday.

He is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with the homicide of Shawn Singh of Peterborough. 

The police consider Silva as dangerous and should not be approached. Law enforcement should be contacted immediately upon seeing him
