Oshawa Man Asleep at the Wheel Charged With Drug Possession and Impaired Driving

A 43-year-old Oshawa man is facing several charges, including impaired driving and drug possession, after an incident on Sunday morning.

At roughly 8:20 a.m., Police received multiple calls about a vehicle at the intersection of Lansdowne Street East and Television Road and a man appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat.

Officers had to break the driver’s side window as the driver was not responding to the first responders' attempts to wake him up. In speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment as well as drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. They also learned that he was a suspended driver.  

During a vehicle search after the arrest, officers located and seized:

  • 35.3 grams of Crack Cocaine

  • 36.8 grams of Fentanyl

  • 5 grams of Heroin

  • 1.6 grams of Psilocybin

  • Drug paraphernalia

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs

  • Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code 

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine X2

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Heroin

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (Other Than Heroin) X5

  • Possession of a Schedule III Substance

  • Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

He was also was held in custody and appeared in the Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on Sunday.

Peterborough Woman Charged After Showing Knife to Victims During Building Altercation

A 28-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an altercation with several neighbours in her building on Wednesday evening.

At roughly 9:30 p.m., officers were called to a residential building on Monaghan Road south of Lansdowne Street. 

Officers learned there had been several run-ins between the suspect and two neighbours, including the suspect showing the victims a knife, verbally threatening them and breaking door cameras.

The woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

  • Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm x2

  • Mischief Under $ 5,000

The accused is currently being held in custody and will appear in court on Thursday.

Peterborough Man Wanted On Warrants Arrested For Theft In West End Business

A 34-year-old Peterborough man wanted on five separate warrants was arrested by officers at a local business in the West End on Saturday.

At roughly 8:30 p.m., officers were in the area of Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road, attended the local business and located the man. He was recognized from previous incidents with the police. K9 Gryphon assisted in keeping the male from fleeing the business. Stolen property was recovered during the arrest.

As a result of the investigation, the man was arrested on the strength of the five warrants for failure to comply with probation x17, theft under $5,000 x8, mischief under $5,000 and further charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000

  • Mischief under $5,000

  • Fail to comply with probation x2

Police say there is also an element of hate/bias connected to this incident.  These elements will be addressed during the court process.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday.

Douro-Dummer Man Faces Impaired Driving Charges After a Dozen Alcohol Cans Were Discovered In His Vehicle

A 45-year-old Douro-Dummer man is facing impaired charges after an incident early Wednesday morning.

At roughly 12:05 a.m. on Wednesday, a general patrol officer spotted a vehicle being driven erratically in the Water and Hilliard Street area. The officer activated their emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment and conducted a roadside test. During a search after the arrest, officers located a dozen open alcohol cans in the vehicle.

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs (Initial test)

  • Failure or Refusal to comply with Demand (Secondary test)

  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

  • Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit

  • Drive without proper headlights – Motor Vehicle

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 25.

Two People Charged With Firearm and Drug Possession From Late September Incident

Two Peterborough individuals are facing charges, including drug trafficking and possession of a weapon, following an investigation into an incident at Armour Hill that occurred in September.

At roughly 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2025, officers were called to Armour Hill after several people reported seeing a man waving a firearm from a vehicle before the vehicle drove off. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. No one was injured in the incident.

Through investigation, a suspect was identified and on Monday, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and officers with the Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Peterborough.

As a result of the search warrant, officers took two people into custody (the driver and a passenger in the vehicle) and located a handgun and 10.4grams of Cocaine. 

21-year-old Riley Pigeon of Peterborough was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged with:

  • Handle firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

  • Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

The accused is currently bound by a prohibition order with the following condition: not to possess any firearm, crossbow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device, or firearm part. 

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with several conditions, including not possessing any weapon as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Tuesday. They were remanded into custody until their next court appearance on Thursday.

A 22-year-old, Jaidyn VanAllen of Peterborough, was also arrested.  She was charged with:

  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm

  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

  • Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

The accused was held in custody, appeared in court on Tuesday, was remanded in custody and appeared in court again on Wednesday.

Peterborough Man Arrested For Exposing Himself at Beavermead Park

A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges including indecent exposure after an incident at Beavermead Park on Sunday afternoon.

At roughly 1:30 p.m., officers were called to Beavermead Park about a man exposing himself while walking around. They located a man matching the description given and took him into custody.

The man was arrested and charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2

  • Indecent Act- public place

The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. 

They are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear on Monday.

Peterborough Police Arrest One Suspect From Two-Vehicle and Business Theft In Lakefield

One person has been arrested and charged in connection with a break and enter and stolen vehicle incident that happened Monday at a Lakefield business as well as another break and enter at a Peterborough business on Tuesday.

Police identified a suspect after an investigation and a warrant for their arrest was issued. The man was arrested on an unrelated matter in another jurisdiction and handed over to Peterborough Police on the strength of the warrant on Wednesday.

As a result of the investigation, the 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Lakefield Incident:

  • Break & Enter a place and steal a firearm

  • Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X3

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle

Peterborough Incident (Business in the Webber Avenue and Lansdowne Street West area):

  • Break and enter and commit indictable offence

  • Fail to comply with probation order X3

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

Police continue to search for the second person wanted in connection with the break and enter in Lakefield as well as the stolen property.

Four Suspects Attempting to Flee From Police Charged With Drug Possession and More

Four people are facing charges after an investigation into a vehicle containing paraphernalia that kept fleeing from police on multiple occasions.

At roughly 4:15 a.m. on Monday, a general patrol officer attempted a traffic stop on an older model pickup truck. The vehicle did not stop and took off at a high rate of speed, almost colliding with several parked vehicles.  At about 4:45 p.m. that same day, another officer on general patrol in the Sherbrooke Street and Monaghan Road area spotted the same vehicle. When an attempt was made to stop, the truck fled from police at a high rate of speed, failing to stop at a stop sign. 

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers on general patrol spotted the vehicle again in the Aylmer Street and Brock Street area. Officers along with members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Investigative Services attended the area to help assist. A short time later, the truck was located in a laneway near Sherbrooke Street and Medical Drive. Four people were taken into custody. 

Officers seized:

  • 54.3 Grams of Cocaine

  • 4.1 Grams of Psilocybin

  • 11.6 Grams of Fentanyl

  • Almost $3000 in Canadian currency 

  • Cell phones

  • Stolen license plate

As a result of the investigation:

A 49-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada X2

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine

Two Suspects Sought From Two-Vehicle and Business Theft In Lakefield

Officers with the Peterborough Police Service are seeking two suspects who broke into two vehicles, stole them and broke into a business on Monday.

At roughly 6:20 a.m., officers were called to a business on Bridge Street in Lakefield. They learned that there had been a break-in at the business approximately 9:40 p.m. on Sunday. 

They learned from video information that two people pulled up to the business, got out of a vehicle — which was later found to be stolen — and checked the doors on several vehicles before disabling the security system. Police determined that a locked door had been pried open.

Several items were reported stolen during the break and enter:

  • Firearm - Bolt Action Rifle (Photo for assistance)

  • Black Pellet Gun with scope

  • $1,600 cash total

  • Power tools

  • Food and Alcohol

It’s believed the suspects took a different vehicle from the one they arrived in and left the area.

Two Peterborough Residents Arrested On Drug Possession Charges

Two Peterborough residents are facing charges after an off-duty officer spotted a person wanted on a warrant on Friday afternoon.

At roughly 5:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to a parking lot in the area of Murray Street and Bethune Street regarding a suspicious vehicle.  They recognized the driver as being wanted on a warrant for failing to stop for police and careless driving.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident and a female passenger was also taken into custody.

During a search after arrest, officers seized:

  • 4.4 grams – Fentanyl

  • 36.9 grams – Cocaine

  • 17.6 grams – Crystal Methamphetamine

  • 4.2 grams – Crack Cocaine

  • A rifle

  • Drug paraphernalia

  • Cell phones

A 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the warrant and further charged with:

  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

A weapons prohibition order currently binds the accused.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday.

A 28-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 28.
