The Works Customer Sneak Peek Was Yesterday & It Officially Opens Today

Gourmet burger restaurant The Works briefly opened their new location yesterday at the corner of Simcoe and Water Street to give the public a sneak peek of the menu. With 70 different burgers (including a local specialty, the "Laker's Cup Champion Burger"), there should be something for everyone. Today is the official opening and they are open every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A Look Inside Canada's Greenest Home Build In Peterborough

The Endeavour Centre chose Peterborough for the location of their most recent project of "Canada's Greenest Home," which is being built at 136 1/2 James Street in East City. The team in charge of the build have invited the public to visit every Wednesday from 5 p.m. 6 p.m. and take a peek at all the features that are making this home as green as can be. The build is being completed by the students in the Endeavour's Sustainable New Construction Program, and is well on its way to completion. The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro Is Opening Soon

[UPDATED POST] The signage has been put in place and everything inside is about ready to go at the old iconic Trasheteria location at the corner of Water and Simcoe Streets. Yes, The Works Peterborough location officially opens to the public this Thursday. The Works has locations throughout Ontario, with most of their locations in the Ottawa area. Spanky's Hosting Its 2nd Annual Golf Classic For Crohn's September 20th

The 2012 Peterborough Folk Festival Takes Place This Weekend

The Peterborough Folk Festival will once again take place at both Nicholls Oval and Millennium Park from August 24th to 26th.

This year, performers include Pronto Monto, Burgess Shale, Tin Vespers, Cora Flora, Jos. Fortin and an absolute host of others that will make for a spectacular weekend.

Don't forget the festival has gone green so bring along a plate, cup, and cutlery for all the tasty eats that will be available.

The Hunter Street Bridge Is Closed Until At Least September 1st

 

Yes, it's true. The Hunter Street Bridge will be closed from Saturday, August 25th, until Saturday, September 1st at midnight. This is in order for the bridge to be waterproofed and paved. One lane will remain open for emergency and transit vehicles only, and foot traffic will be permitted during this time. Should weather be a factor, the estimated dates may have to be adjusted. Other routes into East City include Ashburnham Road and Armour Road.
