From a Peterborough Lakefield Police release today...
Breach of Probation Arrest
The accused, a 34-year-old man, is on conditions stemming from a previous domestic incident with the victim, a 23-year-old woman, including not communicating with the victim and not possessing or consuming any alcohol.
On Thursday (Aug. 30), 2012 at approximately 9:10 p.m. the couple became involved in an argument which other residents in the building overheard and police were called. Police arrived on scene where they located the accused with the victim. The accused attempted to escape by climbing onto the roof of the building. Police were able to escort the accused down off the roof.
During the investigation it was determined the accused had been consuming alcohol. As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching his probation. He was held in custody and will appear in court later today. The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
