Read MoreA Peterborough Couple Is Brilliantly Recreating Photos From Different Eras
/For a Peterborough woman's birthday on Saturday (August 27th), a couple celebrated it by traveling back in time and collaborating on an awesome photo set in 1926. Michael Morritt and Gillian Turnham's "time machine photo" was photographed at a beach in Port Hope, Ontario near Peterborough.

"For the '20s photo, we wanted Gillian to be a flapper and for me to be a more straight laced suitor," Morritt tells PTBOCanada. "As with all our historical photos, we place the emphasis on getting the appearance of authenticity, rather than using authentic costumes. In some photos we've used paper towel to simulate fabrics, or used random bowls for hats. You can always find something in the photos that gives away the truth. However, you can hide a lot in black and white."
The costume and props in the photos came from Talise, Vinnie's and Catalina's in Peterborough.
Here is another photo from the '20s series...
This isn't the first time the couple—who aren't particular historical buffs—have created a historical photo that they have shared, and the plan is for many more in what Morritt calls a "nice hobby among many others".
"This is the second historical photograph we've been happy with, the first being set in 1896," Morritt tells PTBOCanada. "Our intent is to create 12 photos from 12 different eras."

A Huge Family Of Peterborough Sicilians Are In Sicily Right Now For Joe & Sam Ferreri
/Joe Ferreri came to Canada in 1952 from the small town of Santa Ninfa, Sicily in Italy. His brother Sam arrived three years later in 1955. Both became iconic barbers in the Peterborough area—Joe becoming a household name in Lakefield, Sam in nearby Bridgenorth.
The brothers have both returned on separate occasions to visit their hometown once, but never together. Until now, that is. Both are in Santa Ninfa for a visit and have had a beautiful community welcome. It's turned into a huge Peterborough Sicilian reunion party, with 22 people travelling there from the area to join them.

The Peterborough contingent includes the likes of Michelle Ferreri and her husband Adriano (he now runs the barbershop in Bridgenorth that his Uncle Sam had, and Adriano's brother Phil runs the Lakefield one that their dad Joe had); Silvia Ferreri from Pensieri Shoes in downtown Peterborough; Anna Lisa Ferreri from the Pasta Shop on Sherbrooke St., and many more.

And, of course, there is ocean time with Grandpa Ferreri and the grandchildren...

Participants at events across Canada will have the opportunity to openly share the values, needs and aspirations they feel should be reflected in Canada’s electoral system.
“I am truly grateful for the tremendous opportunity to go and meet with Canadians from coast-to-coast and, most importantly, listen to their views on democracy," says Monsef. "I am especially looking forward to hearing from Canadians who have not voted in the past, because our electoral system should work for each and every one of us."

“The Town Hall event is a way for the Petes and the Board of Directors to refresh our relationships with key local stakeholders,” says Petes President Dave Pogue. “We will be opening up the floor for higher-level questions about the operations of the team that we get asked consistently by many fans.”
Space is limited at this exclusive event, but if there is capacity remaining after the season ticket RSVP window closes, members of the general public will definitely be invited to attend as well, the Petes tell PTBOCanada.
