·         Business Interruption coverage & Extra Expense, what it covers, and when & why it’s needed.

·         Cyber Liability/Data Breach Coverage – should I consider having it and why?

·         Claims examples

·         The insurance industry and how it has changed

Troy McDougall is the commercial department manager of Darling Insurance, Peterborough office. He has over 9 years of experience in the industry and hold two professional designations. Initially starting in personal lines insurance (home & auto) he moved to commercial insurance in 2009. His specialities include insurance for auto dealerships, restaurants, commercial buildings, repair garages, contracting companies, and several types of retail stores. Troy prides himself on assisting people to make educated decisions when buying commercial insurance, as well as explaining coverage in layman’s terms. 

Prior to getting involved in the insurance industry, Troy’s background was primarily a blue collar one. He was the vice chairman of the CAW and worked in production and training in a unionized environment for a large warehousing company. This prior experience has been instrumental in helping Troy understand large commercial warehousing & manufacturing risks and also to work & deal with people of various backgrounds.
