Last year, we asked a simple question: how many boats can fit into one of the tubs of the TSW Peterborough Lift Lock? We were overwhelmed by the curiosity this question evoked as paddlers from all across the province, neighbouring states, the UK and even Australia joined us to take part in the experiment.
The answer on that day was 138: a new record for our Lift Lock!
Join us this year as we try to fill both tubs with 150 boats each to celebrate National Paddling Day in our nation's 150th birthday.
This is a free event: just show up with your canoe or kayak along with safety kit and pfds and paddles for all passengers. Eligible craft must have gunwales! Sorry SUPers ;)
