Impaired Peterborough Driver Facing Further Charges After Striking A Drive-Thru Sign At Brookdale Plaza

A 25-year-old Peterborough man charged with impaired driving in December of 2025 is now facing more charges in connection with the incident.

Through further investigation, it was determined that before the man was apprehended he had struck a drive-thru sign at a business at Brookdale Plaza several times before knocking it down and fleeing the area.

On Sunday, officers further charged the 25-year-old Peterborough man with:

  • Mischief over $5,000

  • Fail to Remain

In December, the man was initially charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 10.
