Voters already in line when polls close at 8 p.m. will still be able to cast their ballot.

Once voting results are received from each polling location, they will be provided to the public through the City’s election webpage.

Online voting results will be combined with the corresponding in-person voting results for City Council and school board positions. Votes cast during advance and accessible voting will also be included.

The City Clerk will certify the official election results as soon as possible following Election Day.

Election signs must be removed from public and private property throughout the city within three days of the election, by Thursday.

The City of Peterborough is offering a special election sign recycling program at the Household Hazardous Waste Depot from Wednesday to Nov. 14.

Accepted materials are limited to election signs only that are made of corrugated plastic. Please remove all metal or wood stakes, nails, tape, and any other attachments before drop-off.

Candidates are encouraged to reuse signs where possible and recycle only those that cannot be reused. The program supports Circular Economy Month and helps divert election sign materials from landfill.

The City is working with Wastelogix, located in Lindsay, to recycle election signs into new plastic materials.

The Household Hazardous Waste Depot is open Wednesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Election signs are not accepted through the curbside recycling collection service.
