Peterborough Man Wins Over $50,000 In ONTARIO 49 Draw

Peterborough’s John Rowe has won the ONTARIO 49 second prize of $50,000 from the Sept. 27 draw, announced on Thursday.

He also won prizes of $1,000, $750 and $100 on his ONTARIO 49 selections, bringing his total winnings to $51,850.

Rowe said he has been playing the lottery with OLG every week for about 50 years.

“I found out I won at the store, and I was pretty calm,” he said. “It feels great to win,” John continued. “I’ll share this prize with my family, pay some bills, and get started on Christmas shopping.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Jackson Park Convenience on Parkhill Road West in Peterborough.
