Novotny returned from Canucks training camp and made his season debut last Thursday. He had two goals and two assists in a 7-4 win over the Sarnia Sting. He followed with a goal and an assist last Saturday as the Petes fell 6-3 at home to the Ottawa 67’s. All three of Novotny’s assists were primary and he led all OHL players last week with 18 shots on goal.

Hailing from Kobylice, Czechia, he was originally selected eighth overall by the Petes in the 2024 CHL Import Draft. He was the first Czech player taken in that year's draft and the first Pete. Novotny won bronze with Czechia at the 2025 World Junior Championship and claimed silver in 2026.

The Petes take on the Erie Otters this Thursday, with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
