Peterborough Petes Hosting Annual Teddy Bear Toss Game This Thursday

The Peterborough Petes are sending their plushies flying as they host their annual Teddy Bear Toss game against the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

Last year, 1571 donations were collected in support of the Move 99.7 and Pure Country 105 Christmas Toy Drive, in support of the Salvation Army’s Annual Christmas Appeal. Photo courtesy of David Pickering and the Peterborough Petes.

The team asks fans to bring donations to the game, including stuffed animals, toques, gloves, and socks. Participating fans can throw their donations onto the ice after Peterborough scores its first goal.

The donations will then be collected and counted by Chemong Home Hardware Building Centre, and the proceeds will be donated in support of the Pete 99.7 and KX105 Christmas Toy Drive and the Salvation Army’s Annual Christmas Appeal. Participating fans are asked to place their donations in a clear plastic bag to prevent them from being damaged on the ice. Fans who cannot attend but wish to donate can drop off their donations at the Petes Store prior to the game.

Rexall is selling stuffed bears in the PMC lobby before the game. Both small ($10) and large ($20) bears are available. Net proceeds from each bear sold will go towards the Rexall Care Network, in support of local food banks. Fans can purchase bears at both Peterborough Rexall locations before Thursday.
