It was a back-and-forth final, with Canada holding a 14-13 lead late in the fourth quarter before the U.S. scored twice to take the championship.

Evans finished the tournament with 14 goals and four assists, including three goals in the final.

WMSL Peterborough Lakers members Maddy Baxter and Nicole Perroni also had strong tournaments. Perroni scored four times in the final and finished the championship with 17 goals and six assists, while Baxter, who also plays for the Trent Excalibur, finished with four goals and two assists.

Her Trent Excalibur teammates Kylea Dobson and Maggie Cuddy played key roles throughout the tournament as well. Dobson finished with six goals and an assist, while Cuddy had seven goals and an assist.

Together, the five players with local connections combined for 48 goals and 14 assists over Canada’s four games.

Canada opened the tournament with a 32-2 win over Mexico, followed by a 28-6 victory over Jamaica and a 20-5 win over the Haudenosaunee before Sunday’s one-goal loss to the United States.

The second place finish comes as Canada continues its path toward the 2028 Olympic Games, with the team now set to compete at the 2027 World Lacrosse Sixes Championships in Colorado, where the top five teams will earn Olympic qualification.

Canada also earned silver on the men’s side, losing a tough one to the USA by a score of 12-11, with the winning goal coming on the powerplay with just 1.6 seconds remaining in the game. It was Canada’s first loss since Sixes Lacrosse was introduced in 2021. The lone local connection on the Canadian men’s team was their assistant coach, John Grant Jr.
