The Petes built a 4-2 lead through 40 minutes, then had to protect it while Brantford repeatedly went to the power play in the final frame.

Peterborough opened the scoring early in the first period when Adam Levac found the back of the net 1:51 into the game, assisted by Aiden Young and Mason Minsky. Brantford’s Adam Nemec tied the game midway through the period, but Braydon McCallum restored the Petes’ lead just 15 seconds later, with Holden Carter and Cooper Dennis picking up the assists.

Leon Kolarik extended Peterborough’s advantage just 12 seconds into the second period, scoring on a play set up by Yanis Lutz and Carter. Brantford’s Aiden Kelly answered less than a minute later, but Adam Novotný restored the Petes’ two-goal cushion later in the period, assisted by Kolarik and Lucas Karmiris, with what proved to be the game-winning goal.

The Bulldogs scored once more in the third period, with Jack Good finding the net with one minute remaining. But the Petes held on for the win despite spending much of the period killing penalties.

Peterborough faced five Brantford power plays in the third period, including one that lasted only 10 seconds before the final buzzer. The Bulldogs finished 0-for-7 with the man advantage, while the Petes went 0-for-2.

Matthew Koprowski made 24 saves on 27 shots as Peterborough outshot Brantford 29-27. Leon Kolarik finished with a goal and an assist, while Holden Carter recorded two assists.
