A study is underway to enhance the resiliency of the main library building at 345 Aylmer St. N. Input is needed to help shape the proposed measures and improve the overall design. The information gathered will be used to guide the final configuration of the measures in the study.

Residents can provide feedback on the proposed resiliency measures, challenges, and opportunities at one of the following online public information sessions:

  • Oct. 29 online from noon to 1 p.m.

  • Oct. 29 online from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Both Thursday sessions will share the same information. Attendees only need to attend one of these sessions. The link to attend these sessions is available at connectptbo.ca/libraryresiliency.

Project consultants and City staff will be available during both public information sessions on Oct. 29 to answer questions.

In recent years, Peterborough has experienced several extreme weather events that have significantly impacted the city, including the 2025 Ice Storm. Improving community facilities to withstand adverse weather is integral to residents' well-being, especially the most vulnerable in the community.

Residents can also provide feedback via a survey online. The survey is open until noon on Nov. 13. Paper copies are available at Service Peterborough in City Hall and at the Peterborough Public Library.
