2nd Annual Iron Chef Market Challenge This Wednesday

On Wednesday, October 1st, the Peterborough Downtown Farmers’ Market will host its 2nd annual Iron Chef Market Challenge. Four local chefs will be given identical baskets containing lots of seasonal fall produce, local meat and cheese, and other market goods. They will also be given $10 worth of Nourish Coupons to select and purchase a "secret ingredient" from any market vendor.

Starting at 10:30 a.m., Chefs will be given 1.5 hours to create a seasonal dish on-site that will be sampled and rated by a panel of guest judges at noon. One local Chef will be crowned the 2nd Annual Market Iron Chef by creating an innovative dish that showcases local products, using everything in the basket. Chefs include returning Champion Steve Hancock from St. Veronus, Lindsey Dupuis from Brio Gusto, Lorianne Cichellio of the PC Cooking School in Lindsay, and Geoff Kirkland of the Lantern Restaurant.
