The TELUS Cup Legacy Fund provides financial assistance to help make hockey more accessible. The Legacy Fund can also provide participants with hockey equipment to remove barriers to playing the game, with more than $7,000 worth of equipment available, including helmets, protective equipment, and skates.

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements under the City’s recreation subsidy guidelines.

The TELUS Cup took place in Peterborough from April 20 to 26. It brought some of Canada's best U18 men’s hockey players to Peterborough for seven days of high-action hockey at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

The organizing committee focused on creating opportunities for the community to be part of the TELUS Cup experience. Initiatives included TELUS Cup Fan Skates, participation in the Peterborough Santa Claus Parade, Parent and Tot Skates with the TELUS Cup, a TELUS Cup Ball Hockey Tournament, and the Hockey Canada Dreams Come True program.

With the tournament now complete, the focus has shifted to ensuring its impact continues through the TELUS Cup Legacy Fund.
