YMCA Announces 2026/2027 Strong Kids Campaign Goal of $215,000

The Balsillie Family YMCA officially unveiled its 2026/2027 Strong Kids Campaign Goal of $215,000 to ensure children and families are not turned away from YMCA programs because of financial barriers, announced on Thursday afternoon.

Funds raised provide local families with access to day camp, swimming lessons, health and wellness programs, recreation opportunities and more, with 35 percent already raised.

“Strong Kids is about creating opportunities,” said Charity Brown, YMCA of Central East Ontario fundraising coordinator. “Every donation helps remove barriers and ensures that children and families in our community can access the programs, support, and sense of belonging that the YMCA provides.”

To boost the fundraiser, A Night in White ~ Garden Party made a $45,000 donation, the largest contribution the event has generated to date.

“We are incredibly grateful to Chris (Leney) and the entire Garden Party team,” said Brown. “This extraordinary contribution will directly support children and families across our region and demonstrates the power of community generosity.”

The Strong Kids Campaign runs from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
