PTBOPics: Peterborough Jane's Walk At Mark S. Burnham Park

Last weekend, there was a Jane's Walk in Mark S. Burnham Park (Map). Originally a woodlot on the Burnham estate, the park was donated to the province, and is now an Ontario Park.

Mike McMurtry and Roger Jones of the Peterborough Field Naturalists were our guides and both were chock-full of interesting tidbits about the park.

Head over to outdoors blog Trail Swag for the full account of the walk.

PtboPics & Coverage: Women's Only Event At Wild Rock

On Sunday evening, Wild Rock hosted a special Women's Only event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The first 50 women who had RSVP-ed for the event were welcomed with a bag of goodies as they arrived, including a travel mug from Marmot, a 3-visit pass to Goodlife and an assortment of other items. There were also door prizes and contests to enter for some fabulous prize packs. The place was bustling as women networked and chatted as they sipped wine and sampled horderves. It was a great evening, and one that I'm sure will become an annual event.
