Fleming Phoenix Roundup: Nov. 27

The Fleming Phoenix men’s volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to win in five against the visiting Loyalist Lancers on Friday.

The Lancers took the first two sets 25-22 and 25-18 but then the Phoenix rallied and took the following two sets 25-23, 25-15. The Phoenix then won the tiebreaker set 15-12. 

The women's team could not muster the same result, losing 3-0 to the visiting Loyalist Lancers on Saturday afternoon at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre. The set scores were 25-10, 25-21 and 26-24. 

Both teams hit Scarborough to play the Centennial Colts this Saturday. The women’s team plays at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m. 

The Phoenix men’s basketball team could not take down their rival Durham Lords, losing 98-77 on Friday night. Tyler Murray had 19 points while Jesean Wilson and Keandre Golaurb-Jackson each netted 14 points as the team’s top scorers.

Fleming is hosting their next game against the Centennial Colts this Friday. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre.
