A Bunch Of PCVS Basketball Alumni Reunited At Raider Dome For An Unforgettable Day Of Hoops
/On Saturday (February 18th) on Family Day weekend, 38 former PCVS Raiders basketball players from classes gone by got together for an incredible afternoon of hoops at the school's "Raider Dome" in a reunion that had been long overdue.
Organized by 2002 grad Mike Hanley, the day featured a tournament format of teams broken down into age brackets.
Grads from as far back as the early 1980s up to 2010 suited up for a day that was less about winning a trophy and more about having fun in this iconic school which closed its doors as a high school five years ago in downtown Peteborough.
Coaches and teachers from the past even manned the benches, making the experience even more surreal for the alumni who gathered for this special day.

Size, speed, age and skill varied—with some NCAA and CIS standouts running the courts—but it didn't matter: This was about bringing back former comrades from close and afar to show that once you’re a Raider, you’re always a Raider.
After its success taking place on Family Day weekend, the plan is to make this an annual event to keep Raider basketball and pride going strong!

Awesome Photo Of Grey Cup Champion Brad Sinopoli To Appear In Peterborough Sports Hall Of Fame

Peterborough-bred Brad Sinopoli was chosen Most Valuable Canadian after the Ottawa Redblacks dramatic 39-33 overtime victory in the Grey Cup game against the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday (November 27th).
An awesome photo (see below) of the Crestwood grad taken by Ottawa-based editorial and portrait photographer Ellen Bond—who hails from Peterborough—during the 2015 season will soon be housed at the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame for the next four months.

Bond got the chance to shoot for the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) during the past couple seasons, and was on the field for every Ottawa Redblack game.
"Being from Peterborough, playing so many sports there—my dad Ernie and brother Eric also being deeply involved in athletics in Peterborough—and knowing all the photos out there of Brad Sinopoli....for them to want to display my photo is an honour," Bond tells PTBOCanada. "Maybe they did their research and knew Brad's dad, Sam, was one of my high school (Crestwood) hockey coaches....LOL. I am proud of that photo and happy more people in Peterborough will get to see it."

Awesome: The Peterborough Petes Lend Practice Jerseys To Special Needs Team
/The Peterborough Huskies special needs hockey team is rebranding as Electric City Maroon & White to start fresh—love the name!—but their new jerseys aren't available yet. So in an awesome gesture, the Peterborough Petes organization are lending the team their practice jerseys to use in the interim. Here are photos from Friday (November 11th) by Eileen Kimmett of the happy players practising at the Kinsmen Arena in their Petes jerseys...
"The excitement from the players when they received their Petes jerseys was incredible, and it continued into the dressing room and onto the ice," Coach Williams tells PTBOCanada. "With the announcement of the new name combined with the borrowed Petes Jerseys, it feels like a brand new team and a new beginning for all of us."

Peterborough Petes Are Doing Throwback Game Set In 1956, Includes 15 Cent Hotdogs
/On Tuesday, November 8th—exactly 60 years to the day of the first ever OHA game at the Peterborough Memorial Centre—the Peterborough Petes will recreate the 1956 hockey game night experience, wearing replica 1956 T.P.T Petes uniforms. They will be playing against the Niagara IceDogs, who will be wearing St. Catharines Teepees throwback jerseys.

The game will be a near-exact replica of a 1956 hockey experience, including:
-> 15 cent hotdogs (limit of two per ticket, while supplies last)
