The temporary closure was required after a break in the main water line servicing Symons Campus, leaving all buildings without access to water.

Campus buildings, including Bata Library, the Student Centre, the Trent Athletics Centre and the colleges, have reopened and returned to regular operating schedules.

Students, employees, community partners, and visitors may return to campus now that repairs are complete.

Classes and operations at Traill College and Trent's Durham GTA campus were not affected by this outage.

Symons Campus residence buildings Student Housing has been communicating directly with students about returning to residence and providing individualized support throughout the temporary closure.

In recognition of the disruption experienced by students living in impacted residences, the University is refunding residence fees for the period during which students were unable to access their residence rooms.

Students living in residence at Traill College and in the Annex residences on Water Street were not impacted by the closure and could remain in their residences throughout the disruption.
