Here's Pictures From The Rotary Polar Plunge In Ennismore Today

This afternoon at Rotary Park in Ennismore, folks braved the chilly waters to take a dip in Chemong Lake for a good cause—the 32nd Annual BEL Rotary Polar Plunge. Creative costumes and brave smiles faced the crowd as the fans cheered on their bravery. Each team or individual were plunging to help raise funds for a local organization or charity of their choice. Miracle Broadcast Christmas Toy Drive Takes Place Today

There are many Christmas Toy Drive Drop-off locations throughout the city again this year. Each one that I've spotted has been over-flowing with toys that will bring smiles to the faces of many children this holiday season. A donation of a new, unwrapped toy is truly appreciated to help support the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal. Brought to you by Energy 99.7 and Country 105, the Annual Miracle Broadcast will take place at Lansdowne Place this Saturday, December 10th.

Peterborough Fills Hundreds Of Shoeboxes Again This Year

The Samaritan's Purse: Operation Christmas Child Program wrapped up last week after another successful year of donations throughout the community. Once again this year, I filled a shoebox up with items that will brighten a child's Christmas. Such simple day-to-day items that we take for granted, but will help a child have a Christmas they won't soon forget. There were various collection locations throughout the city; I dropped mine off at Kawartha Lakes Bible College where there were an overwhelming amount of boxes ready to be shipped off for distribution. Peterborough continues to show their giving and helpful nature in so many ways, even more so at this time of year.
