Ontario Parks Recognizes Three Peterborough Student Employees For Outstanding Performance

The 12th annual Ontario Parks Partners Bursary program recognizes Ontario Parks students who "excel in their jobs by demonstrating a high level of initiative, dedication, volunteerism and customer service."

Forty students recently received $500 educational bursaries for their outstanding performance as Ontario Parks summer employees, including three from Peterborough. They are:

Mackenzie Green – University of Ottawa – Algonquin Park

Naythan Murtha – University of Guelph – Bon Echo Park

Kevin Obbard – University of Waterloo – Algonquin Park

Congratulations to all, and remember that Ontario Parks is the largest employer of students in the Ontario Public Service—hiring more than 1,800 students each summer.

Here's Pictures From Path Of Destruction A Truck Left On Ravenwood Drive Last Night

All the neighbours up on Ravenwood/Wildlark in the west end are talking about the damage a driver did on their street last night. According to the police report, an erratic driver behind the wheel of a truck at around 9:30 p.m. damaged up to 20 lawns, struck 2 vehicles, a light pole, and 2 utility poles. He also knocked down trees. Total damages are in the neighbourhood of $50,000. A 48-year-old man has been charged with Impaired Driving, Dangerous Operation and Fail to Remain. Thank goodness no one was injured.

The rink is ready on Charlotte St. as part of Festival of Trees. It's open to the public today through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
