Downtown Parking Meters Are Going All 21st Century

No more trying to park on someone else's dime. The City of Peterborough is slowly removing the old fashioned parking meters, and converting them to the ones that print out receipts to put on your dash.

They are solar powered, but don't feature the ability to accept credit cards like their brethren in Toronto for all day parking (although it is conceivable that these meters can be upgraded to accept credit cards at some point as the compartments are there).

Until December 31st, the Kawartha Rotary Club is hosting a book drive to help fill the Salvation Army hampers.
