PtboPics: The Tragically Hip (And 4 Dudes On The Balcony) Rocked Showplace

The Hip were amazing, and so too were these four dudes up on the balcony (see pics below). People couldn't help but notice them with their high fives, their man hugs, their fist pumps, their air guitars, their picture taking, their dance moves, their enthusiasm. And they managed to not fall off the balcony.

"Nightscapes" Show By Local Artist Rob Niezen Is Now On Display At Green Eyewear

Drop by Green Eyewear Optical (374 George St. N) in downtown Peterborough to check out the oil paintings on display from Rob Niezen, which includes night images of our city. Niezen, who has studied at the Art School of Peterborough, lives in nearby Indian River, Ont.

Idiots Vandalize Tepee At Del Crary Park Used At Ode'min Giizis Festival

From a Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service Media Release today...

Mischief:
Sometime between 6:00 pm on the 19th of June and 6:30 am on the 20th of June, suspects slashed several holes in the canvas of a tepee in Del Crary Park. The tepee, 30’tall with a 20’diameter, was erected in the park on the 15th of June as part of the Ode’min Giizis Festival. Damage has been estimated at $10,000.00. Anyone with information is asked to call the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

2011 Ode'min Giizis Festival Includes Performance Of "The Creator's Game" At Peterborough Lakers Game & Del Crary Park

Image courtesy Nadya KwandibensOne of the major events at this year's Ode'min Giizis Festival taking place June 15th to June 19th in Peterborough is the performance of The Creator's Game, a celebratory work of contemporary dance combining choreography rooted in Haudenesaune (Iroquois) culture with the athletic prowess of lacrosse. A company of professional dancers and community lacrosse players perform this new work, with an original score by two-time Juno award winner Derek Miller.

An abridged performance will be held just before the Peterborough Lakers lacrosse game on the evening of June 16th, and the full performance will be shown on Saturday, June 18th at 3 p.m. as part of the Ode'min Giizis Traditional Gathering at Del Crary Park.
