PTBOCanada Review & Pics: New Exhibition At Artspace Explores Mortality

We are all mortal. We have a beginning, a middle and an end. Montreal based artist Diane Gougeon captures this ephemeral notion within her work PFFUIT! A neutral grouping of helium filled balloons whose nature is that of ours, only in this case their destiny is compressed and we can witness this change over hours and days. The balloons read "We Are All Dead In The Long Run ;-) ". This is an exhibition worth lingering over. To be close to these floating sea of orbs is especially enlightening. Also, visit every couple days, even just to witness them through the wide windows from the street, as the balloons loose their umph and slowly descend to the floor. The show runs through March 31 at Artspace, 378 Aylmer Street North. Here's some pictures...

Save PCVS Concert Sold Out For This Sunday

It will be a full house at Sunday night's Save PCVS concert taking place at Showplace.  Hosted by Sean Cullen and featuring the sounds of Serena Ryder, The Avenues, Jimmy Bowskill and many other great acts, the benefit concert is to help raise awareness for PCVS's fight to save their school.

1st Annual PeterTweeter Awards To Take Place At Splice March 1st

Everyone is expected to wear plaid at one of the most hyped, exciting events to come to Peterborough in a while—the PeterTweeter Awards, which recognizes the best of Twitter in Peterborough.

Hosted by The Wolf's Dani Stover and KRUZ FM's Catherine Hanrahan, the #Petertweeter will showcase some of the Patch's best "tweeps", covering everything from food, music and crafts to entertainment, music and news.

The awards show takes place on March 1^st at 7:30 p.m. at Splice Lounge and Restaurant.

Tickets are $10 and available at the WOLF/KRUZ and Peterborough Green-Up, and proceeds from the event are going to Peterborough Green-Up.
