Yes, a new business—Wireless Solutions—is moving into the old 7-Eleven location at 1774 Lansdowne Street West and Brealey (which closed in 2013, much to the chagrin of kids everywhere).

The campaign lost steam in recent years, but there is talk of bringing it back in some incarnation—and with the logo.
I love this Made in Peterborough logo. It's the brainchild of Dan Stanford of @CabinetreePtbo #Ptbo pic.twitter.com/nKq9Re9r7v

@anndouglas Dan Stanford is our Board Chair & we are hoping to revive this logo with @PtboCounty @CityPtbo @PtboCaraW

Walsh adds: "I can't speak to a timeline for a full roll-out, however I can let you know that with our 2015-19 Strategic Plan's focus on both Telling our Story and on Creating a Culture of Startups and Entrepreneurship, we are looking to celebrate the products, experiences, and both manufactured and grown goods that are 'Made in Peterborough'."
"We've had a number of clients tell us they would like to bring back this campaign as they participated in it when it was first launched," adds Tonya Kraan, General Manager, Peterborough CFDC. "On a personal note, when I take my son to the grocery store, I always show him the 'Made In....' stamp of products that I know are made locally."

Peterborough-based freelance writer Philip Preville was one of them. He took his computer into the Peterborough location Friday for repairs. Saturday, he learned—along with the rest of consumers across Canada—that Future Shops were closing across the country, including Peterborough, which will be converted into a Best Buy.
Preville is self-employed. He relies on his computer to work, to make money. He needs his computer back. Read his tweet exchanges below to Best Buy and Future Shop—it's all so confusing who to even direct tweets to—about being got caught during a massive rebranding...
Friday I took my computer in to @FutureShop in @Ptbo_Canada. @GeekSquad said they'd call Saturday. Now I learn FUTURESHOP IS CLOSED FOREVER
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
HEY @FutureShop AND @BestBuy MY COMPUTER IS HOSTAGE TO YOUR IDIOCY. HOW DO I GET IT BACK????!??
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
@ppreville Thanks for your Q. We'll contact you directly when your computer is fixed to arrange a pick up. More info: http://t.co/Nzr4nnHSfq
— Future Shop (@FutureShop) March 29, 2015
.@FutureShop And when will that be? It was supposed to be ready today. My livelihood is on hiatus while you guys rebrand. Unacceptable.
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
.@FutureShop My computer was supposed to be fixed today. Period. Had I been told it would take any longer I'd have never left it with you.
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
.@FutureShop So if my computer's not fixed on Monday morning when I must return to work, what will you do to help me?
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
.@FutureShop I am self-employed. That computer truly is my livelihood. You cannot leave me wondering when you'll get around to it.
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
@ppreville @FutureShop You should be addressing these to @BestBuy, I doubt anyone is monitoring the other account any more
— John Corbett (@CorComm) March 29, 2015
Hey @BestBuyCanada, please see my feed regarding dispute with @FutureShop. While you're busy rebranding you're leaving me unable to work.
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
@ppreville @FutureShop Pretty sure that you are not among their top 1000 priorities now. Too bad, but time to start shitting on BestBuy now
— Steve Legler (@slegler64) March 29, 2015
.@slegler64 @FutureShop @BestBuyCanada Let's ask them. Hey, corporation: where do "customers" rank on your list of rebranding priorities?
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
.@CorComm Did you notice? @FutureShop just favorited your tweet, as if to say, "hey @BestBuyCanada, you deal with this angry guy."
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
@ppreville We want to help you, but can't on social media. Please call 1-866-BEST-BUY to speak to Cust Service. Pls let us know how it went.
— Future Shop (@FutureShop) March 29, 2015
.@FutureShop @BestBuyCanada Get it straight Einstein. You have my number. I'll be here on social media until you call me.
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
We are not alone “@Alor_PinProject: WTF @FutureShop I was getting my laptop fixed how am I gonna get it back now?? #fail”
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
@ppreville We'd like to escalate this & get your computer back to you. Pls send us all the details at twelp@bestbuycanada.ca. Thank you.
— Best Buy Canada (@BestBuyCanada) March 29, 2015
.@BestBuyCanada All the details are in your @Ptbo_Canada store, with my computer and my contact info. Go get them. That'd be "escalating."
— Philip Preville (@ppreville) March 29, 2015
All Future Shops are closing across Canada, consolidating under the Best Buy brand (Future Shop's parent company). The Peterborough store has already closed, with surprised customers showing up on Saturday to the notice on the store doors.
***The store will be renovated and rebranded as a Best Buy.
We do not know the status of employees at this time, and whether they retain their jobs under the Best Buy brand. Tip us.
