The quest to save PCVS still continues to move forward with passion and drive. You may have noticed these signs around town. They are being made by Jeff and Krista Macklin. This cover of Neko Case's "Star Witness" performed by PCVS students Kate Macdonald and Janelle Blanchard already has more than 17,000 views since being uploaded December 4th—and has been tweeted by Neko Case herself several times. It was recorded to draw further attention to PCVS's closure and the devastating impact it could have on our community.

Ontario Parks Recognizes Three Peterborough Student Employees For Outstanding Performance

The 12th annual Ontario Parks Partners Bursary program recognizes Ontario Parks students who "excel in their jobs by demonstrating a high level of initiative, dedication, volunteerism and customer service."

Forty students recently received $500 educational bursaries for their outstanding performance as Ontario Parks summer employees, including three from Peterborough. They are:

Mackenzie Green – University of Ottawa – Algonquin Park

Naythan Murtha – University of Guelph – Bon Echo Park

Kevin Obbard – University of Waterloo – Algonquin Park

Congratulations to all, and remember that Ontario Parks is the largest employer of students in the Ontario Public Service—hiring more than 1,800 students each summer.
