Peterborough's Hawk Nelson is currently on tour in the United States in support of their fifth studio album, Crazy Love. Lead singer Jason Dunn is sending us pics and notes from the road. We will update this post with new photos from the tour as Jason sends them to us.

Recently while sipping coffee at the Silver Bean, I noticed some dancing taking place and was curious to learn more. Turns out this group are part of the Peterborough Scottish Country Dance Society. They are resuming classes again for both experienced dancers and beginners starting in September. Check out their website for further details on how to join.

From a Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service Media Release today...
Weapons Arrest
On 30Jul11 at approximately 1920 hrs, police on patrol observed a male near George and Hunter Streets. The male was covered in blood and was riding a bicycle and carrying an axe. Police stopped the male and an investigation commenced. As a result of the investigation Lawrence Alfred Carnrite, 41 yrs, of Millbrook, has been charged with weapons dangerous. Carnrite has been held in custody and will appear before the courts on 31Jul11 to begin the process of determining his guilt or innocence.

Trent Valley Archives presents West Side Story on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. This will be the last chance to take in this historical walking tour that carries you through the old "West End" of Peterborough, including Homewood Avenue, Weller Avenue, and Murray Street, to learn about the relationships between these areas that once were.
The tour is approximately one hour and you can meet your guide at the corner of Monaghan and Weller. Parking available at Queen Mary Public School.
During the month of August, Trent Valley Archives will continue with their ever popular Eerie Ashburnham Ghost Walks that begin at 9 p.m. on Friday nights from the corner of Hunter Street and Driscoll Terrace.
