It was a special night at The Venue Friday, as Canadian rocker David Wilcox played his classics like "Riverboat Fantasy" and "Do the Bearcat" to a packed crowd. The evening was sponsored by WIND Mobile, which has recently opened two stores in Peterborough—one at Charlotte Mews, the other at 999 Lansdowne Street—and WIND Co-Founder Mike O'Connor was on hand to donate a $20,000 cheque to the Peterborough Festival of Trees. The final ten contestants were announced Sunday night during the Search 4 a Star reveal show at The Venue in downtown Peterborough. After each weekly show during June, fans could vote for their favourite act by texting in who they thought the best act was. In an unexpected twist, three individuals qualified for tenth place in a complete tie. The following people will compete at the Grand Finale at Little Lake MusicFest on August 22nd for over $5,000 in cash and prizes...

PRHC Radiologist Dr. Sarah (Sally) Harvie and her dance partner Jesse DiLiello (with choreography by Deona Scott) danced away with top honours on Saturday night at Dancing with the Docs: Disco Fever.
Six local physicians shed their scrubs and hit the dance floor at a gala fundraising dance competition at The Venue in support of the PRHC Foundation’s Closer Campaign. The Venue was transformed into a Studio 54 inspired discotheque, right down to the coloured lights and glimmering disco balls.
More than 300 guests at the event were also treated to a delicious seventies-inspired cocktail reception and buffet dinner. A live and silent auction loaded with amazing items kept guests busy in between activities.
