The Flavour design duo Mike Watt and Bryan Reid have launched a new brand developed and manufactured in Canada called PTBO NORTHERN ORIGINALS. The line comes from their "love for our city, our community, our home, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada." Available exclusively at Flavour Fashion (383 George Street North) in downtown Peterborough, this collection has a "vintage heritage campy look combined with a current street sensibility." The Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism team just arrived back from Pittsburgh, where they formally announced they will be hosting next year's Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) Conference & AGM from June 10th to June 14th, right here in Peterborough and the Kawarthas (Pittsburgh was this year's host for TMAC). This marks the first time the well known association has chosen to host its conference in a rural destination, and will showcase our area to a large number of Canadian travel media. Silver Bean Café Introducing PTBOCanada Coffee Blend From Kyoto This Summer

As a fun cross-promotion, we are delighted to announce that the Silver Bean Café will be serving a PTBOCanada Coffee this summer, a special Kyoto Coffee Blend.

As Silver Bean explains in a Facebook post announcing the promotion, "We decided to approach Tracy at Kyoto Coffee and ask her to make a special blend for us, one worthy to be called PTBOCanada Coffee. After some strenuous taste testing, I think we have settled on a blend. It is a Brazilian Peaberry and Peru Feminino coffee bean blend and we will be serving it up all summer long at the cafe. The Brazilian Peaberry is Rainforest Alliance and the Peruvian beans are Cafe Feminino."

Yes, Gobi (a 6-year-old male) and Zaya (3-year-old female) definitely seem to dig Winter. Millbrook Downtown Being Transformed Into Movie Set For "Life" Starring Robert Pattinson

The Hollywood movie Life starring Robert Pattinson (Twilight film series) is filming scenes in Millbrook, Ont., near Peterborough on Tuesday (March 4th). Pattinson plays the role of Dennis Stock, the photographer for Life magazine who took many of the iconic images of James Dean. Millbrook's downtown on King Street is being transformed by the film crew into the 1950s era (see pic below), with primary scenes to be filmed at The Pastry Peddler—which will stand in as a Fifties shoe store. Pattinson will be in town for the shoot. The movie is slated for release in 2015.
