The Queen Mary Breakfast Program is a free program available to all of the close to 400 students who attend the school. The program, which has been running for more than 10 years now and continues to evolve, provides nutritious foods to students right in their classrooms. As the Examiner reports, for a second straight year our Peterborough Petes and the Canadian Cancer Society have teamed up for a great cause. Last year, "Pink the Rink" raised more than $55,000; this year's event is called "Rink of Ribbons" (to include raising money for all types of cancer research), and takes place Saturday, Feb. 5, when the Petes host the Sudbury Wolves.
Former Pete (and NHL player) Doug Evans and Petes assistant coach Wayne Clark were named honourary chairmen of the event. See more from them in the video below.
